Security gate closed at 1st & C st. Huge crowd chanting "We've got tickets!  Let us in!"  People in tears waited up to 4 hrs with tickets, denied entrance. Many leaving the area very disappointed.

Reached scene inside gallery place Chinatown metro station. No fatality. Metro police confirm 68 year old woman hit by train and transported for treatment with minor injuries.  No word on if she fell or was pushed but was apparently on the tracks. Resuming service on the red line soon. Mob scene outside the station. Lots of folks still trying to reach the mall. And it's bitter cold out.

Heading out for the second time this am on a breaking news call. Reports of a woman hit and killed by a Red Line Metro train at Gallery Place in Chinatown.

Missed a cab but able to grab a town car with producer and crew.

Streets not as bad as expected for driving outside zone.
